PASADENA, CA – Lagerlof Cares, the charitable extension of Lagerlof, LLP, donated $25,000 to AbilityFirst with funds raised through their annual Lagerlof Cares Golf Tournament Fundraiser.
Lagerlof Cares hosted their 4th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Brookside Golf Club on Friday, November 15, 2024, benefiting AbilityFirst. This year the event also held their first wine-tasting experience for those who wanted to support the cause but don’t golf.
“We have a strong desire, as a leader in our community, to support organizations who are truly making a difference in the lives of our community members,” Managing Partner of Lagerlof, LLP, Joshua Driskell, shared. “AbilityFirst is a great organization that offers invaluable services and support to those with disabilities and their families, and we are thrilled to be able to support their work.”
Lagerlof Cares chose AbilityFirst as their beneficiary as they believe in their impact on the people they serve in our community. AbilityFirst stands for, and alongside, people with developmental disabilities and their families. They create a welcoming environment where everyone feels they belong and are valued. Their first consideration is always for the well-being of their participants, and — through the mutual trust that they share — each person is supported to achieve his or her personal best. At AbilityFirst they look beyond disabilities, focus on capabilities and expand possibilities.
“AbilityFirst was built on the ethos of possibility and that is what resonates with all of us,” AbilityFirst CEO, Dr. Sergio Rizzo-Fontanesi, shared. “We all want to achieve what’s possible and reach our full potential. This is what we aspire for ourselves, our children, and the future of the world. This is the fundamental core of AbilityFirst’s programs and services.”
The golf tournament offered a variety of ways to get involved and support the impactful organization. The tournament offered an 18-hole golf game, a wine-tasting experience in partnership with Arguax, contests, an auction, a raffle, cocktail hour, and dinner. There were 100 golfers in attendance, 30 wine-tasting guests, and 162 attendees for cocktails and dinner.
Sponsors of the tournament included Gable Tax Consulting, Shuster Financial, Vimvi, Northern Trust, IMA Financial Group, We Benefit Children, LA Premier Group, Integrative Wealth Partners, Thon Beck Vanni Callahan & Powell, Colleen Carey of Lee & Associates, iBar Inc., Lenox Advisors, Dave Knight Real Estate Team, Seltzer Legal Group, The CREM Group, Arroyo Insurance Services, and Thrivent Huntington Group.
The tournament also included a variety of local partners, including StretchLab Pasadena, Cigars by Chivas, Chik-Fil-A Pasadena, Custom Comfort Mattress, and a car display and raffle by Tesla Pasadena.
“We’re grateful for the generosity and support from all our community leaders and business partners,” Lagerlof, LLP’s Chief Operations Officer, Corey Castillo, shared. “We are pleased to be supporting such an impactful nonprofit organization, such as AbilityFirst, and the work they do. Thank you!”
Lagerlof Cares believes that, as a prominent leader within their community, they have the responsibility to give back to their neighbors beyond the boundaries of their standard business practices. With this in mind, they are committed to helping build a stronger, and more connected, community by investing in local nonprofit programs.
