Dena L. Klotz is Senior Counsel and the Managing Attorney at the Encino office of Lagerlof, LLP. Her practice focuses on estate and gift tax planning, estate planning, business succession planning, charitable giving, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, post-death administration, and probate.
Dena represents a broad range of clients, including individuals, families, trust and estate administrators, real property owners, and businesses. As part of Lagerlof, LLP’s Private Client Group, she provides comprehensive legal guidance across all aspects of life for high-net-worth individuals and families, including preserving generational wealth, navigating family governance, and protecting and transferring wealth and assets. Additionally, she works with clients in all financial stages of life—those just starting out, getting married or having children, experiencing a divorce, preparing to sell a business, or planning for retirement.
Dena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law. In addition, she holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University and previously practiced as a therapist specializing in resolving conflicts with couples and families. Dena is also a licensed California real estate broker.
Combining her background in law and therapy, Dena brings a unique blend of analytical and interpersonal skills to her practice, helping clients navigate complex legal and personal matters with clarity and confidence. She prides herself on working in a timely, professional manner, ensuring the client experience is as important as the final work product.
